US Virgin Islands BayThe US Virgin Islands is a group of islands in the Caribbean which is a part of the United States. It is a section of the Virgin Islands archipelago and is situated in the Leeward Islands of the Lesser Antilles between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. Sun, sea and sand are the natural resources of the island. The ambience here is an exceptional combine of Danish inheritance and American modernity with a tranquil and friendly attitude, characteristic of the Caribbean. December through to April is the high season but if you don’t mind a little rain you will be able to get better deals and you could visit the island in November, early December or even May.

US Virgin Islands PortThis is an ideal Caribbean retreat with no airport, and more than half of the island's deep valleys preserved as national park. Christiansted is situated on the biggest island, St Croix, and has a number of historic sites like the Fort Christiansværn, Old Custom House, Art Gallery and the wharf area. Remnants of Danish influence can also be seen in St Thomas. Charlotte Amalie, which is also the capital, has renovated the warehouses into fashionable boutiques. Travelers who want to see nature at its best can visit St John.

US Virgin Island Luxury ViewThe Cruz Rum Distillery is situated on the West Airport Road, where guests can see the rum being made as well as taste it. If you want to see plantation life of the 18th century you can stop at Whim Greathouse on the way to Frederiksted. There is a tropical rainforest near Frederiksted. It is also worth spending time on seeing the St George Village Botanical Gardens and Croix Aquarium. Tourists can sail to the tiny Buck Island, which can easily be reached from Christiansted. This region has the most remarkable marine gardens which are maintained by the National Park Service.

 

US Virgin Islands Snorkeling

You can hire powerboats or sailing boats and sail around the numerous Islands in this area. There are several boat races organized here all the year round. Some of them are Rolex Cup Regatta and the Mumm’s Cup Regatta. It is possible to see egrets, herons and several other kinds of wildlife on guided kayak tours along the Mangrove Lagoon and St Thomas’ Marine Sanctuary.



US Virgin Islands Water PlaneThere is very good diving and snorkeling opportunities among the dazzling coral reefs. The main attraction for all divers is the rich marine life, warm and calm seas, as well as exceptional visibility. The island offers very good facilities and the best sites are Carval Rock, Salt River Canyon , Andreas Reef, Submarine Alley and Buck Island Reef National Monument. If you are an angler then fish for blue and white marlin, sailfish and Wahoo. North Drop is no doubt the best spot. You can charter sport fishing boats with experienced skippers. The Virgin Island US organizes regular fishing competitions, like the Open Atlantic Blue Marlin Tournament and the Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament which draws many tract amateurs and professionals from around the globe.

US Virgin Islands ParadiseThis island has numerous hotels and resorts and it will cost you according to standard. When compared to the other Caribbean Islands the charges on Virgin Island US are much higher. It allows you to be pampered in its luxurious resort. There are also a variety of villas, guest houses, and condominiums which can be rented on St John and St Thomas. Caneel Bay is one of the most luxurious resorts on the island

St John has two main campsites and one of them Cinnamon Bay Camp, is situated inside the St John National Park. If you plan to stay for just two weeks you can find cheap empty plots, with or without tents. They are generally packed so it is better to book much in advance.  Maho Bay is the other campsite and it is located near a spectacular beach. It has ‘eco-tents', which is an endeavor of the tourist authorities’ to promote 'sustainable tourism'.  Rustic cabins can also be rented.  

Islands of Saint Croix, Saint John and Saint Thomas are the main components of the Virgin Islands with some smaller islands and the historically distinct Water Island. It is a wonderful holiday destination with hiking, snorkeling, kayaking and other activities on the island. To add to the excitement you will find a wonderful mix of good restaurants. The island is an ideal amalgamation of the recognizable and the exotic, and USVI is a small bit of America in an indigo sea.
